Your lambs grow sooooo fast. Sandi I do worry about your hair hanging down when you work. Please tie it up for safety. 🥰Velcro on the plastic windows Jess.

  • You're beautiful, silly, but beautiful! You have a gorgeous smile and you're so sweet and kind! I think your sheep has a calcium deposit or a cyst? My dog had one on her neck. She kept scratching there, it opened and started bleeding like crazy. It had swelled up some more and got hard from the pressure. Vet said she probably had an infection in a gland there and took a sample with a needle. Gave me antibiotics for her. Within a few days it got more swollen and harder, she was having trouble eating, and then breathing. So I took her in and the Vet had to lance it! He said it was a cyst, so removed it and gave me a stronger antibiotics and a tube of pain gel to put down the hole she was left with. Poor baby! I felt so bad for her! She's back to normal now except for a bit of a scabby sore there yet. Vet said it would probably come back eventually darn it! I'm praying not, but who knows right? So I'm hoping your sheep just has a calcium deposit or something not bad for her! Love you girl! Take care and God bless! 🤗🤗🤗🙏🙏🙏

  • "Ba ba black sheep have you any wool? Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full." When you said three bags full that's all it took to evoke a childhood memory! Another channel I watch "Curiosity, Inc." just did a house clean out. One of the former inhabitants was a weaver. She had every kind of loom available. She spun wool too. She made gorgeous stuff. I hope you find an outlet for your wool. If the pandemic is good for one thing it's people have time for hobbies. People are cooking, sewing, throwing pots, and weaving. Your channel. I hope parents plug their kids into your channel. They need to see animals, where food and clothing come from, AND JUST HOW HARD YOU WORK. They need to see the interconnectedness of all things. Thank you.

  • Don’t hang curtains. Go to a Home Depot and get the sun block stuff. The silver. Really cheap for a huge roll. Keeps heat out or in, depending on your need. Cut a template for your windows from poster board and cut the silver stuff line your windows. The side windows will hold in on their own pretty well. Gutter covers with the mesh are great for windows screens. It just fits in the rolled up window and keeps the bugs out. LOTS of videos on ITworlds on Jeep camping hacks.

  • Was your Ram disbudded as a lamb? Sometimes the disbudding doesn't get all the horn and it comes back as scur. The same thing can happen with goats. Also I agree with the wool wash and putting the wool on your website, you can also put it on your website as raw wool. There are lots of fiber people that spin "in the grease". I bet you would sell a ton of it to the fiber folks that watch your channel.

There are many independent spinners and dyers in Canada and in the US that may be interested in buying your fleeces when they’re shorn. It depends on the type of sheep you have.

    • Thought about this later... If the sheep you are raising are not specifically bred for their wool, then it may not be worth processing it for spinning or for yarn. If these are bred for meat, then their wool may be too coarse for yarn spinning.

  • Wool, I use it on top of my beehives. I place it on top of the inner cover and under the outer cover. It absorbs moisture and insulates from frigid winter temperatures. You might advertise to other beekeepers. I have Katahdins and wait until the sheep scrub the wool off their sides. When the hair underneath grows out on the back section, I rip off the wool portion which I use on my beehives the following winter.
