An extract from the fantastic Nick Mason episode of A Life On The Road. Nick arrived by helicopter and took Brian for a spin in his £40M Ferrari 250 GTO - the car that helped finance Pink Floyd's Momentary Lapse Of Reason tour.
Leggende Fantastico
Mr. Mason, I am 55 and have heard your comment that the reason Dark side...etc....sucess was its "Drumming, supposedly in Jest"....my quote, not yours......I believe you now....the heartbeat rhythms......GENIUS....SIR!!!!
Thanks! Saw multiple 250 GTOs racing hard (!) at Monterey years ago, unforgettable
Nick Mason told Brian Johsnon " Hell nooo!!,,You are not driving my 40 million dollar Ferrari, I AM !! ".... Nick knows better! , friend or not friend, lol
Hey Nick, I'm pretty sure I'm your illegitimate son, and I would really like to inherit that car when you are done with it. Call me! :-)
Ac/Floyd. Progressive Hard Rock.
I should have been a rock star. I wanted to, but.......
excuse me~! what is the ending song ~? someone knows it~?? pls. song name~!??
Masterpiece.
Awesome Nick! 🌠 Thank you!
That’s the most beautiful car I’ve ever seen
These guys are rock n' roll royalty! So where are the seatbelts?
Being a drummer he always wonders what the pedal in the middle does
Seatbelts!
Wowww.... such a treat to Brian and to us seeing up close in 2021 Nick’s 250 GTO, thank you so much for posting 🙏 🇬🇧
Brian Johnson's an accomplished race driver and car fanatic. It was a bit dickish of Mason to not give him a moment behind the wheel.
Insurance reasons
Wonderfull Ferrari's car Wonderful Musicians
All I can think about was Brian's last Melbourne show. They didn't even address the crowd once. Not even a thanks for coming... was a total let down.
My favourite Nick Mason quote, ‘Back in the day we all had dealers on speed dial, luckily mine sold Ferraris not drugs.’
"I like Apple pie, but not with the crust" that's his best quote for me
This time delicate sound of thunder beats thunderstruck. 😉
Brian Johnson, why not doing more Videos like. This, there is sure more interesting people with big collection, will be interesting, very good Video, and quality is superb
I love some Nick Mason! He still kicks ass on those drums too.
When i was a teenager before internet...we can only imagine those kind of things of our music hero. It turns out that my imagination was really near of their reality !
Auto de carreras sin ponerse cinturón de seguridad?
This car is most definitely worth $100M. The provenance alone and then the fact that it is owned long term by Nick Mason. The highest priced one to sell (That we know of) was the Mcneil car for $70M. So this could easily achieve $100M.
If you love music, you have to love the internal combustion exhaust note from a Ferrari or a literal trove of other beautiful cars. Tesla? Negative Ghostrider
If Brian Johnson says it a good griff, diamond hands to the moon!
Duas lendas em um carro lendário...simples assim!!!
A 250 GTO being driven on the road. Holy shit! Gotta love these artists.
From Brazil to the world 🇧🇷🎸🤘
Love It!!!!
Good to see that he is enjoying it and not just collecting!
CARS ARE MOST HAPPY WHEN THEY ARE BEING DRIVEN AND ENJOYED BY THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEM😊👍❤
how can we see the full episodes from which these clips are taken?
1 condition " I'm driving...
Que bueno que Nick Masón tenga una pasión... Jajajaja P.D. juro que siempre lo ví como un INEMOSOONABLE jajajaja
I've never been keen on personalised numberplates but I just can't argue with this one!
Slow car Very slow
He purchased the car for 35k dollars. It's worth upwards of 40 million. I wonder if he knew back then that the car had any chance of achieving such a high value. That Ferrari might be the most valuable car on earth. He could ask 100 million and someone might pay it.
Para mí junto al Ford GT 40 y el Jaguar X 13 los tres autos sport más hermosos que se hicieron 🇦🇷
I remembrer when he has talking about it with broncano at la resistencia
Fantastic
🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
How did the car help finance the tour?
This SHOULD be the most viewed thing ever.
Without security belts,a momentary lapse of madness as only two crazy guys made be made it
This man knows how to handle a stick.
@David Bull Automatic = no pain
It’s hilarious that most Americans can’t drive a manual! It’s the norm in the UK.
That car belongs to the road, good job
well i prefer the f40
Once in a lifetime ride.. 1962 one of a handfull produced, spaceframe, alloy body, V12, 5 speed, 4 wheel discs.. Insanely ahead of its time... Rich mans toy always, i dare say theres a secret waiting list amongst the rich... What they go for is not dependant on "market value" but whatever goes down at the negotiation...
I hope he doesn’t sell his collection and donate the money to global warming research like David Gilmour did with his guitars. Nick is still of sound mind and body. I’m proud to have met him at his book signing several years ago. Swell chap!
Quality
Seatbelts? :(
They had genuine fun.
Ferrari 250gto best car of the 1960s sounds amazing lucky Brian 👍
I picture myself just like Brian if I reach his age.
The midengine 250 LM is even more so..
What a sound that thing makes
It’s so sad that that Ferrari is worth so much because it must spoil driving it what with that number rattling around in your head.
Amazing!
It’s one thing owning one....Quite another to have the license plate as well 😂
That car sounds like pure racing and nearly soumds better than the two of you. 🤣😜✌️❤️
Please ask him about Julian Assange Brian and come join the gang of us to release free speech locked up with Julian. Love the shows love you too. Nice one Brian.
3 Legends
Dois pobrezinhos coitadinhos, um com 50 anos de Pink Floyd .outro 40 anos de ACDC kkkkk
The badassage of that car & it's sound is off the charts.
Llévame de acaaaa!
Emozioni Che auto elettriche difficilmente potranno darci
If God made music and drove a car...
Every 36 of these still work, get driven annually and is in pristine condition. And all are unique.
Is there much difference between Brian’s voice and the sound of that beautiful V12 going through the gears.... Both are very pleasing to the ear !!
Lucky guy
This is what a $70 million dollar car looks like,
I'm sure there is a reason these are worth so much. , Just give me my 458 gtb any day. If I couldn't sell it. I would rather have mine.
The drummer of this band owns a 250 GTO, God knows what else is in his collection in total. This should give the ones of people on this planet not familiar with Pink Floyd how big they truely are❗ Thank you for driving it, seriously!
No seatbelts. Surely, at the time of production it was not a requirement. Or they simply don't give a sh...
Two rock gods that are real gents
I’d never claim to know enough to comment of Brian’s finances, but if ever a person would be suited to owning one of these if one came up for sale, it would be him. Lovely stuff.
Brian ,he just let you drive that jewel !
Wow. That had to be crazy fun. And, you got to hang out with Nick Mason ! Lol. Awsome!!! I really dig the fun facts too. Look forward to more videos. Thanks
An absolutely fabulous stable of valuable cars. Hats off to Mr Mason 👏👏👏👏👏🙏
£40 million for that piece of crap?
The absolute pinnacle of Ferraris for me, and there have been so many superb Ferraris. Two rock legends enjoying the 250 GTO as its meant to be. Does it get any better than this. 👍
Best car ever made ... simply gorgeous!
You can tell he drives it regularly because it actually started.
No matter where Brian has been, what he has seen over the years, or what he has accomplished professionally put the man in a 40 million dollar vintage 250 GTO and the man is instantly transformed in to a 10 year old boy that is having the time of his life. I do not know if i had the opportunity to go for a ride with Nick Mason in his GTO or get a demo ride with the Blue Angels in an F-18 fighter jet, which one I would choose.
Wow look at that beautiful thing and what an amazing sound!!! Nick Mason's Ferrari 250 GTO is kicking all the ass!
Worlds most expensive car
Oh Brian I thought it said Boris kmt
Don’t care that it’s second hand, I’ll give you what you paid for it. I’m generous like that 😛
Heat seeker!
WoW!!!!!
The utter glee on their faces says it all.
40 million
"it's a proper race car as well look". Well yeah, it's what they were built for! I'd also say 40 million is quite a low estimate.
Never mind Brian Johnson riding in a 250 GTO. Nick Mason has ridden in my Ford Zephyr
Lovely old car, great mechanical sounds. It' good to see the car driven as it was intended with so much passion.
The owner was too naive to not see they set him up to ruin his multi million dollar Gto paint job by the pebbles coming from the car "filming" in front of him. Poor soul
The song you hear in the beginning is PINK FLOYD - Signs of Life
Ahhh yes.. Peddling £40m on wet UK A Road
