Winning is at the heart of Formula 1, so imagine the heartbreak of these 10 drivers who came tantalisingly so close to stepping atop a Formula 1 podium. However for some this was just a small hiccup on their successful quest to achieve victory...

Ferrari and their team orders: That put a black spot on them! Will it change 2021 so Sainz could score some seriuous points?
Barrichello British GP 2000
Javier - Canada 78 ?
3:00 Easily the worst commentator voice i've ever heard
My Top 1 ist Hill in the Arrows misses his Victory Second Last lap
I wish Jacques Villeneuve would have raced under an alias. He doesn't deserve to carry Gilles' last name.
No no no!!!!! The first is: Mansel x Piquet.
I miss Hakkinen failure in the last lap of the Spanish GP 2001
We all know that Victory was TAKEN from Russell, they couldn't risk upsetting golden boy aka Sir twatStain
George "had a puncture"
3:25 different colors
Kubica 2007 China ?
How forget the 1991 Canadian GP, Mansell "won" those race..
How many times did Mika's engine blow up while leading in 1997? i think it was at least 3 times. His first two wins were gifted to him, but I don't think anybody faulted him for that after all those engine blowouts.
97年のハンガリーGPのヒルが入ってない。
Mika Hakinen Barcelona in 2001 and Hill in Hungary in 1997 both Half Lap to go
Russell was robbed, I saw what you did there Mercedes F1 shame on you.
Top 10 British-biased list of drivers who lost a maiden win.
Why is Leclerc with the illegal Ferrari engine in this list?
and Mika Hakkinen in spain 2001?
What about Mika Hakkinen Spain GP in 2001. Massive shock
Salo should have been higher on the list. I'm not one to cry about team orders, but he missed out on his win for the least inevitable reason in this list and unlike most of the other drivers featured, he never did get his maiden F1 win.
6:25 saddddddddd
Rubens Barrichello GP Brasil 2003
Stefan Johansson's career had been very different if he would have won that imola race.
come on! where is barrichelo's?
Charles has lost 2
>video about disappointment >includes 3 Finnish drivers
And Ayrton Senna in Monaco 1988???
Maiden win.
Missing Spain 2001
Russel didn't have a puncture
About Senna at Monaco GP?
Hulkenberg still crying for first podium and win
So, what i have learned from this video is that, if you want to get a maiden victory in this generation, avoid Bahrain
F
1984 Monaco GP: Ayrton Senna!!! You can’t leave that out of this!
@Gustavo Marques Same, I was so disappointed when I saw that it was Damon Hill. Senna was actually in the lead when the race was stopped. He only lost due to a rule that says whoever was leading the last completed lap wins the race. So, Prost won. Smh
I clicked this video thinking Senna's 1984 performance in Monaco would be #1. That was just disappointing.
The absolute state of Hills Williams behind Villeneuve in Australia. No conspiracy there, he was definitely leaking something!
I came here to laugh, not to feel.
Of course Finland drivers not allowed to win..
Can't take seriously going from Monza '71 to some 2020 race...
10 Drivers who Lost Their FIrst Win ending with ‘while Prost took his *fifty-first* [a record at the time] win’. Ouch x10.
We can add Nick Heidfeld 2008 Canada and Lance Stroll 2020 Turkey
it's the most disgusting thing when they make a driver slow down so that their teammates can pass them
Now we know who Murray Walker's favorite driver was after the Lament on Daman Hill's misfortune.
I love hearing Mika Hakkinen’s voice.
You could see Hill covered with Villeneuve's oil. Look at their rear spoilers when they are on the same shot
That came out sounding like something other than intended.
Jean Alesi should have made this list 5 times !
@2:50 Why wasn't Villeneuve punished like Vettel 2019? ;)
No Bottas in Azerbaïdjan and russia ?
And Russia 2017? Valtteri it’s James
I can’t believe that the official F1 account used a misogynic word like “ a maiden win.” You can say “first win,” as you usually said-such a shame.
I'm confused, is this sarcasm?
I remember more Daniel Ricciardo heartbreak on Monaco 2016 , was so close
Ralf Schumacher in Belgium. A lot faster than Hill but team orders kept him behind.
Russell wasn't even first when he had to stop again because of the puncture, it wasn't a win yet
What about Rubens in Brazil without gas?
If you never had your heart broke... you never competed
Top 2 from Bahrain GP 2016,Ferrari Charles Leclerc started first until drop down to third All is Lewis Hamilton rules
Kimi Raikkonen in Nurburgring in 2005 in last corners was unbelievable too.
He wasn't heading for his first (maiden) win
Gerhard Berger, Hockenheim 1996...! His engine blew up 4 laps before the end... He was leading since the first lap.
He wasn't heading for his first (maiden) win
Luxembourg GP in Nurburgring🤣🤣🤣
Max Verstappen 2018 interlagos: Am I a joke to you?
7:38 was it a cylinder misfire? Or was it the Ferrari PU actually running legally?
What about the 1999 Europe Grand Prix? Fisichella and Ralf Schumacher both retired from the lead.
For me Russell always will be the winner of the sakhir gp. No matter what
Honourable mention from the more distant past: Jody Scheckter leading his third ever GP in an inferior McLaren at the 1973 French GP only to be taken out by Fittipaldi.
Drivers who won on their birth day ?
And Hungaroring 1997 ??
Watching these Ferrari team orders from back when makes me wonder how I ever watched without throwing stuff at my TV.
Stroll's Turkey antics?
Dissapointed to not see Jean Alesi missing his first win in monza. 199x?
If I learned anything from this it is that a Ferrari-driver leading their 2nd race for Ferrari can expect something to happen.
Kimi saying it's the most disappointing race in his career, like he's talking about what to have for dinner 😂
It happened later, but Amon's race in 1972 at the French GP in Clermont-Ferrand(Charade) looked even more to be his... and after his stop, he actually set a new lap record. Also, not sure why the creators of this video decided to go with Depailler when at the same race, Riccardo Patrese was leading for newcomer Arrows until his engine blew up 15 laps from the end. That sounds like a bigger disappointment to me. Depailler, even though no win again, at least finished. Häkkinen actually led at Silverstone(holding off Villeneuve) and the A1-Ring(passing Villeneuve on the first lap, then his engine blew) already, but it was less dominant than at the Nürburgring later. Still think these lists are made a bit half-heartedly...
No puedo creer que no esten las de Senna en Monaco 88 y Monza 88...
Nick Heidfeld in Canada 2008. Told to move over for Kubica. If he doesn't do that, he wins the race.
Kubica never deserved that win.
How about Verstappen crashing Montoya in Brazil 01?
Top 10 moments of Fittipaldi brilliance
I thought Amon just pulled all his tear-offs off, not his whole visor?
Salo deserved better in F1
- Å fan!
Sakhir GP still haunts me to this day.
Checo Perez, Sepang 2012, strangely not on the list.
Vettel Hockenheim 2018?!
Lance stroll in Turkey GP???
Sad Hulkenburg noises
so every time an englishman has a puncture prost wins
That Southafrican GP in 1978 should be also the first win from Riccardo Patrese who was leading the race and his Arrows' engine blew up 15 laps away from the checkered flag. It should've been the one and only Arrows win in F1 for the man who drove the most races with Arrows. Patrese also has the only pole position in the history of Arrows Team.
@David Jundt Indeed
Which to me is way more heart-breaking than Depailler. Looks like the one that added this one took a nap researching the race :p
Monaco 1984? It could have been the first victory for Mansell and Senna, too.
Alonso Hungaroring 2006
Lance Stroll Turkey 2020 is an honourable mention
Sainz italia 2020 or Damon Hill Ungheria 1997 for me in this top ten.
Erm... "lost MAIDEN" win. Hill was a race winner and world champion by 1997.
For me was by far Ivan Capelli in the 1999 French gp. He lead the race for a massive 46 laps!! The engine broke with 2 laps to go. Prost won that race.
@David Jundt Yes. You are right.
You mean 1990, right?
If Badoer replaced Schumacher in 1999 he would win in Hockenheim and his home race at Monza
I miss the Silver Mercedes.
I believe I may know number 1 for this list.
I was close. I thought it’d be LeClerc, but that was 2nd.
where is raikkonen in nurburgring 2005?
Hulkenberg be like: am I a joke for you?
Damon Hill Hungary GP 1997 and Mika Hakkinen Spain GP 2001?? They lost their races on the last lap
"Top 10 Drivers Who Lost A Maiden Win" Maiden win means they hadn't won before, before Hungary 97 Damon had won 21 Grand Prix and before Spain 2001 Mika had won 18 Grand Prix
Juan Pablo Montoya (2001, Brazil)?
5:21 George would not watch that
